The Western PA Shop Hop was first held in 2001. It has grown in scope each year, becoming the premier event it is today. The goal of our website is to share up to the minute information about the event in this new format.
The Western PA Shop Hop passport is included in a wonderful booklet that contains general information about each shop, maps and even patterns. Passports for the 2010 Shop Hop go on sale April 8th. Once again passports are only $5.00.
We hope that each of you enjoyed the “dance” that was our 2010 Western PA Shop Hop. We loved welcoming you and hope that you found each shop to be a unique expression of its' owner and staff. Planning for the 2011 Hop has already begun - watch for details about next years event in each of the participating shops later this fall.

One of the highlights of each year is the Progressive Quilt show. Each of the shops will create a custom version of the sampler quilt using the block patterns based on each shop's individual Shop Hop theme. This year's progressive quilt has been designed by Karen Montgomery from The Quilt Company. Make sure to download the free Bonus Pattern to get you inspired and complete your collection.

Each striking quilt in this collection was created using the progressive quilt block patterns provided to “hoppers” during the 2010 Western PA Shop Hop. Many of the quilts may still be on display in the shops. Individual shops may also still have quilt kits in stock.
If you own a quilt shop within a 50 mile radius of Pittsburgh (as measured from downtown Pittsburgh) and would like information about becoming a stop on the 2011 Western PA Shop Hop please contact this years coordinator. Send your written request to Kate & Becca’s Quilt Patch, 1045 Frick Rd., Scottdale, PA 15683. Include a SASE so that participation information may be returned to you. Your request for 2011 must be received by August 1, 2010 so that your application can be processed and you can attend all required Hop planning sessions.
